Birds, Beasties - and Beetles

A recent paper published in a prestigious British Journal of Entomology and Natural History by our colleagues, Linda Losito and Bob Cowley, brings together several major strands of NRN interests: birds, insects, and small mammals. Linda and Bob have studied the contents of bird pellets collected at Long Mead Barn and elsewhere. Their findings of, 'What’s on the menu?' for Long Mead’s kestrels are surprising to those of us who thought they only hovered up small mammals. Read more about it here.
