Scything is the ultimate green gym — stretching, flexing, bending, loosening, and strengthening all at once!

If you have your own scythe please bring it.

New to scything? No problem — we’re happy to teach you and there will be scythes available to practise.

We’ll start by mowing Dovehouse Close Meadow, and may move on to other local sites, including the churchyard and Fishponds Car Park Meadow.

Not up for scything? There’s always plenty to do — from raking and bundling hay to other hands-on tasks, suitable for all ages and abilities.
