Eynsham's Wildflower Meadows: potting on and planting out
George Rockall, young farmer and former student of Bartholomew School, did a magnificent job of making the hay on the Neyotts Meadows and Changeable Furlongs this year. It is the first time that hay has been taken in half a century. A wonderful start to helping the wildflowers recover and flourish.
Now we are hoping that Chris Strainge's sheep will have grazed the new meadows, so that they will be ready to plant out some of the wildflowers that we have been propagating through the year.
There are also plenty more seedlings to pot on which might grow strong enough to plant out at the next nature recovery day in October.
It is always helpful if you can arrive on time at 2pm so that we can brief everyone together. But if you can’t make it then, we’d love to see you anyway.
PLEASE NOTE THE TIME CHANGE from earlier posts.
